Our featured bead store this month is Just Bead It!
Stepping into Just Bead It of Concord, California, the most common saying heard from the customers "wow, I feel like a kid in a candy store!" With 1,500 sq ft of sparkle, color and variety of beads it does feel like a beader's dreamland.
Focusing on variety rather than a specialty, there is something for every type of beader - Swarovski crystals, stone, shell, freshwater pearls, wood, African beads, lampwork, Czech glass, Japanese seed beads, vintage, findings, sterling silver, tools, books, stringing materials, and of course Softflex beading wire!
In addition to the great bead selection, Just Bead It is also noted by their friendly, informative, and supportive staff - from helping and encouraging the new beader to sharing designs with the more advanced. A family owned business operated by two daughters (Joyce Trowbridge, April Warren), Mom and Dad (Marie & Dave Trowbridge), they all enjoy working together in a fun, creative atmosphere with beads. Also joining in at the shop, you can find Grandma (Loraine Chase) or Joyce's sons (Cody and Justin) sorting and packaging beads or making jewelry for display.
Classes are offered covering the basics of stringing and wiring,to bead weaving techniques, pearl knotting and wire projects. Specialty classes in PMC (precious metal clay) are taught by Mary Alexander and Elisabeth Mahnken of ME Designs www.medesigns.biz, and Chainmaille by Mike McBride. All classes are held in the classroom upfront accommodating 6 students, ideal for fun and personal instruction.
This spring '08 marks the 5 year anniversary for Just Bead It. Come visit and help celebrate with the family five years of creation, success and bead fun!
