Our featured bead store for this month is Red Garnet Beads & Buttons.
Local Executive Jenene Szuch turned a dream of owning her own business into another way for her to be in service to others. Four and half years ago, she left her position as Executive Director of the Business and Technology Center at Edmonds Community College to open Red Garnet Beads & Buttons. Red Garnet Beads & Buttons is a full service bead store offering a wide range of quality beads, beading accessories and classes located just off of I-5 in Mountlake Terrace (Just South of Lynnwood).
"On January 29, 2004 (my birthday), I made a commitment to myself. I was going to make a change and follow a dream to open my own business. Eight months later I opened Red Garnet Beads & Buttons. My goal was to create an establishment where people could tap into their creativity, connect and feel supported", said Jenene.
Jenene continues by reflecting back on the last five years, "What I have found is that beading is an artistic medium that goes beyond creative expression. It is an opportunity for people, mostly women, to celebrate life, be part of a community and often even heal from heartache, loss or illness."

Once you've made your choices, finding your "findings" is easy. String, wire, colorful silk cords in a variety of dimensions can be paired with toggles, hooks, earring backings, spacing beads and clasps. Not sure what you'll need? Red Garnets' helpful and knowledgeable staff is always on hand to offer advice, recommendations and moral support to both beginning and experienced beaders.
