Accessories

From America’s Next Top Model to the The Devil Wears Prada, the ladies of television and the silver screen are as important as a runway model when it comes to trend setting for accessories.
The sixth season of America’s Next Top Model showcased the prospective models in outfits of pure white, each wearing multiple necklaces made of turquoise. Each model wore 3 or 4 necklaces, each necklace was very much its own unique design with different sizes and shapes of turquoise beads. The effect of wearing a solid color with tons of bright turquoise was stunning…..Absolutely stunning.
In the recent film, The Devil Wears Prada I noticed that Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep donned an array of jewelry. Aside from the already popular trends-large pearls and bangle bracelets, the central trend that really stood out was mixing together a number of necklaces or bracelets that don’t necessarily go together. For instance, we would all typically put a single pendant
on a single chain and call it good. What about 2 or 3 pendants on 2 or 3 different lengths of chains in a matching metal, each pendant graduating to a larger size as the chain gets longer? It looked fantastic.
The second season of Rockstar: Supernova features the beautiful Co-host Brooke Burke showcasing all sorts of interesting jewelry choice. Guess what is the most common choice if you flip through the photo gallery, multiple unique necklaces worn together.
So, as we wind down from a very simple summer-let’s be daring and mix things together that we would have never dreamed would have worked together before.
