SPOTLIGHT ON ... GOOD BOOK
November 2009

Our featured book this month is
The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Jewelry Making Techniques
by Vannetta Seecharran
The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Jewelry Making Techniques by Vannetta Seecharran broadened my jewelry making horizons. It covered lots of materials that I have not yet worked with. Materials shown include, but are not limited to: metal, wire, plastic, rubber, fabric, fibers, leather, wood, ceramics, glass, paper & paper pulp. With mixed media jewelry becoming more and more popular, this book is a well rounded guide for mixing and matching lots of different materials as well as techniques. I loved it!
From the cover, "A comprehensive guide for jewelers and metal smiths. Find guidance, inspiration, and the creative possibilities for designing contemporary jewelry."
In this book you will find:
-
Step-by-step instructions
-
Essential metal smith techniques
-
How to use a wide range of materials
-
Helpful guide to essential tools
-
Invaluable directory of decorative effects
-
Guide to claps & closures
