Jean & Judith constructed 12 designs that were influenced by their favorite impressionist masterpieces. "Impressionism is the name given to an art movement that began in Paris in the 1860s. Paintings in this style are known for their loose strokes of color, which are applied side by side. The brushstrokes-short, choppy, broad, or sometimes a series of dots-created and 'impression' and left the color mixing to the eye of the beholder." This book is absolutely marvelous.
